Project scope

KillBill is an expert system which, based on an analysis of a user’s telephone bill, advises the user which mobile phone operator to sign a contract with so as to minimise their costs. The user supplies the system with a detailed telephone bill for analysis. The system compares the terms offered by competing network operators and suggests the signing of a contract with the operator that offers the most favourable terms from the point of view of that user.

The problem

The company Entellico Sp. z o.o. was founded with the aim of implementing an idea for the optimisation of telephone bills. A key functionality of the system is the automated analysis of a user’s bill. This is the task that was given to us.

The complexity of this task, which was carried out in 2011, may be illustrated as follows. If the Rankomat system, used to select the most favourable insurance company, performed optimisation of the customer’s costs exclusively on the basis of an automated analysis of their insurance policy, that would be an equivalent of the KillBill system.
